Carols on Norton is a free outdoor community event. In 2009, its sixth year, it will take place from 7pm on Sunday 20 December at Pioneers Memorial Park, Leichhardt.
Sponsored by Leichhardt Council, the Leichhardt Chamber of Commerce, The Glebe newspaper, Leichhardt Marketplace and produced by the Leichhardt Espresso Chorus, Carols on Norton features an orchestra and local community choirs.
Any musical activity is a powerful builder of friendships, community bonds and social capital. The aim of Carols on Norton is to encourage community interaction through music-making by people of all ages and ability; at the highest level; in a community setting.
