Under the baton of former artistic director Michelle Leonard OAM, and our current leader Aija Draguns, Leichhardt Espresso Chorus are proud of their award winning record for performing a wide ranging repertoire and launching ambitious projects in collaboration with a wide variety of musicians and composers. Some of our most recent events are outlined below.

September 25

Aurora - Northern songs under southern skies

We recently sang a collection of songs from Baltic and Scandanavian countries, along with Australian composers from Baltic communities, in collaboration with the Sydney Latvian Mens Choir and the marvellous Acacia Quartet

May 2025

Intertwining Alice Chance’s Aesops Fables with JS Bach, featuring tenor soloist Wesley Wu, saxophonist Alice Morgan, accompanist Catherine McEwan and conducted by Aija Draguns.

Christmas 2024

The 21st edition of Carols on Norton was at Pioneers Park again, conducted for the first time by our new artistic director, Aija Draguns.

OCTOBER 2024

From ancient harmonies to modern innovations, conductor and composer Aija Draguns took the LEC into RENDITIONS, a concert exploring where music has been, and where it’s going next.

JUNE 2024

What does light sound like? An ethereal journey with Leichhardt Espresso Chorus, conducted by Aija Draguns, as we delved into the choral realm of sound and light.

Christmas 2023

For our 25th Anniversary we were back performing in Norton Street for the first time since 2019. It was a wonderful event, with great community support, as ever.
