The Leichhardt Municipal Council recognises that arts and culture are an important aspect of our community and actively supports this sector. The Leichhardt area is home to many creative industry workers and a diverse range of art and cultural organisations. These organisations and their interaction with the community influence the shape and diversity of the Leichhardt identity. The LEC is an integral part of this active arts scene. In formally recognizing this, Council has formalised support of Carols on Norton and the LEC with a three year partnership arrangement ensuring ongoing presentation of this major local event.

This agreement forms part of the council’s commitment to deliver integrated social, environmental and economic outcomes for the community.

MarketPlace Leichhardt

For over 30 years MarketPlace Leichhardt has supported its local community through sponsorships, donations and charity assistance. The centre is committed to working with the community.

Annually, MarketPlace Leichhardt supports the formation of the Inner West Children's Chorus that performs each year with the full orchestra and adult Choir as part of Carols on Norton. The sponsorship includes in centre performances during the Christmas season – a favorite of singers and the local community.

The Inner West Courier

The Inner West Courier has a long history as the inner west's leading source of local news. The paper leads by example - lobbying for residents' rights and supporting community campaigns. The Inner West Courier boasts its position as the only local newspaper that honestly represents the unique and eclectic residents of the inner west. As part of this focus, The Inner West Courier actively supports Carols on Norton and the LEC annually as the major media partner for the event.
